Miller Environmental Corporation (MEC) is honoured to announce the renaming of our Manitoba Environmental Centre, located in St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba, the
Vaughn Bullough Environmental Centre.
We do this in recognition of and gratitude for the enormous contributions made by Vaughn to our company, our people, and to the development of the Centre.
Vaughn has led MEC since 1997. In 1995 Miller Paving, already active in the waste management business through its Miller Waste Systems division, entered a partnership with the Province of Manitoba to take control of the operating arm of the Manitoba Hazardous Waste Management Corporation. Miller injected much-needed capital into the operation and brought to MEC the culture of a successful private-sector enterprise. But most importantly, Miller realized that the newly-formed endeavour needed the hand of an experienced manager at the helm. To our everlasting good fortune, Vaughn Bullough responded to our search and joined MEC in 1997 as General Manager.
Vaughn brought a steady hand, tremendous vision and a unique commitment to our people that established the foundation upon which Miller Environmental’s success has been realized. Our current position as one of Canada’s most environmentally sustainable, diverse and respected hazardous waste treatment and disposal facilities is in large part the result of Vaughn Bullough’s unique skill set and tireless commitment. With profound gratitude for this legacy we are proud and honoured to put Vaughn’s name on our flagship facility.
